According to Wikipedia (accessed 2026-07-10), Lethbridge recorded 106,550 residents in the 2023 municipal census (98,406 at the 2021 federal census) across 121.12 square kilometres. It is situated approximately 215 km southeast of Calgary, 169 km west of Medicine Hat, and 105 km northwest of the Canada–US border. The city functions as southern Alberta's commercial, distribution, financial, and industrial centre. Employment concentrates in health, education, retail, and hospitality; government ranks among the top five employers. The economy evolved from coal mining and agriculture in the late 1800s to a diversified service-based model. Park Place Mall occupies former rail-yard land between Scenic Drive and Stafford Drive. Known as "The Windy City," Lethbridge has the second-highest count of high-wind days of any Canadian city.
