Woodfine Projects

The buildings-and-places record for Woodfine Capital Projects Inc.: six development classes, the design system behind them, and the site-selection method built on established retail anchors. Norway — Regional Market index

The Norway regional market index lists the nine Norwegian markets that meet the co-location system's composition gates. The nine markets run from Ullensaker, just north of Oslo, to Bodø, well north of the Arctic Circle — a spread far wider than any other European country in the current dataset.

Coverage

No rank or score is published for any market in this table. Every market below qualifies under the framework's Regional Market composition gate — a hypermarket anchor paired with at least two of {hardware, price club, lifestyle, electronics, sport} across the market's co-location clusters. Full methodology: Regional Markets Intelligence System.

The metropolitan reference point recorded for each market is the nearest major metropolitan centre in the framework's continental reference set — a straight-line (crow-flies) distance measurement, not a drive-time or commuting estimate. Eight of Norway's nine reference points sit within Norway itself — Oslo (five entries) and Trondheim (three entries) — unlike Croatia and Greece, where every reference point crossed an international border. Only Arendal's reference point leaves the country, to Aalborg, Denmark, across the Skagerrak strait. Two markets — Bodø (466.6 km) and Rana (365.6 km), both in Nordland county near or north of the Arctic Circle — carry reference distances well beyond the rest of the set. This is a real consequence of how sparsely major metropolitan centres are spaced along Norway's northern coastline, not a data gap.

Catchment population has not been computed for any of the nine Norwegian markets in the current dataset build — Norway is one of six European countries without this figure in the 2026-08-07 release, alongside Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Romania, and Sweden. Each profile page states this plainly rather than presenting an unavailable figure as zero or omitting the gap silently.

Bodø Trondheim 466.6 1 0 0

Retail and Civic Anchors

OBS Coop anchors all nine clusters — the only chain present in every entry, a stronger single-chain dominance than either Croatia's Kaufland/Pevex pairing or Greece's Sklavenitis. Elkjøp (electronics) appears in eight of the nine, missing only from Ullensaker; OBS Bygg (hardware) anchors seven of the nine, absent from Arendal and Bodø. Montér (hardware) appears in four markets; XXL (sport) and Würth (industrial and MRO supply) each appear in three. Civic infrastructure: a hospital anchors eight of the nine markets — every market except Steinkjer, whose single cluster records no civic anchor at all in the current dataset, a real, disclosed gap rather than an editorial omission. A university anchor appears in three markets — Drammen, Elverum, and Ringsaker.

AEC Data Coverage

Climate, seismic, and wildfire-hazard data has been computed for two of Norway's nine markets in full — Arendal and Bodø — matching Greece's two-of-seven ratio. A third market, Ringsaker, carries a partial record: its Local-tier cluster has a recorded environmental profile, but its District-tier anchor cluster, roughly 16 kilometres away, does not, and the two are not close enough to treat as the same site. The remaining six markets — Drammen, Elverum, Moss, Rana, Steinkjer, and Ullensaker — have no AEC coverage at all in the current dataset build; see GIS Data Overview for the AEC data pipeline.
