How this knowledge base is organized
The company's story starts with one sentence: it builds leasable space near Power Centres — large retail sites anchored by a major box-store tenant — so that the businesses leasing its buildings can capture the foot traffic, visibility, and access of the anchor. This knowledge base unpacks that sentence. No industry background is needed; professional terms are explained where they appear, and every defined term links to the glossary.
The buildings
The Buildings describes the six development classes — Professional Centres (three to five storeys), Suburban Office (six to fifteen storeys), Retail Select (single storey), Tech Industrial, and the planned Parking Structures and Vertical Warehouses — each designed to a fixed prototype, with the tenants and economics of each class.
How We Build is the design system: buildings designed from the tenant's needs outward, fixed floor plates, and the [[boma-standard|measurement standards]] and certifications the buildings are held to.
Architecture and Design Styles surveys the design culture the buildings stand in, from classical to contemporary movements.
The places
How We Choose Sites is the method: the retail anchors, the analysis of who lives and shops nearby, the scoring, and the tests a site must pass before land is bought.
The Markets is the atlas: how places are screened and ranked, the country and tier indices, and a profile page for every market — a growing collection, one article per place.
The Rollout Program is where building is planned next: the intended country-by-country programme across Canada, the United States, Spain, and Mexico, and the registers that track candidate sites through the pipeline. It is a plan, not a promise: locations, counts, and timing are targets and may change.
The context
Woodfine's Structural Policies covers two of the company's own deliberate market policies: the regional capital gap the Direct-Hold Solutions are designed to address, and the under-building discipline that preserves pricing power.

Correction (2026-08-02, verified against canonical repo state): this section
previously also described a "Research" category. That category was retired
(commit b67eb58, "chore(taxonomy): retire empty research/ category
(Command-ratified)," 2026-07-15) — categories.yaml carries no research entry and
no research/ directory exists in this repo. This article was never updated after
the retirement. Flagged, not resolved.
