Drammen is a port city in Buskerud county, 39.7 kilometres southwest of Oslo. It combines a

## Overview

Drammen recorded 106,013 residents as of the fourth quarter of 2025, on the Drammenselva river in
southeastern Norway. <!-- wikipedia-sourced: population/description --> The city formed in 1811
from three separate seaports and grew into a major maritime and timber-trading hub; a 2020 merger
with Svelvik and Nedre Eiker municipalities made it Norway's seventh-largest city, with more than
100,000 residents. Drammen has won 21 environmental and urban-development awards since 2003, more
than any other Norwegian city.
