short_description: "The four tier labels — Regional, District, Local, Fringe — visible on the co-location map follow the International Council of Shopping Centres retail property hierarchy, providing a nomenclature that carries meaning independently of the platform itself. Sprint 17 (May 2026) introduced both the ICSC labels and the V3 pure-predicate tier engine."

**Sprint 17 (May 2026):** The Sprint 9 labels were replaced with the ICSC hierarchy: Regional, District, Local, Fringe. The motivation was alignment with an internationally recognised nomenclature that carries meaning without requiring platform-specific context. A planner who opens the inspector without reading documentation knows what "Regional" means; "Prime" required learning.

**Correction (2026-08-02):** two defects. (1) The real ICSC shopping-center
hierarchy is Neighborhood/Community/Regional/Super Regional — it has no "District,"
"Local," or "Fringe" tier; only "Regional" is a genuine ICSC term. (2) This article
asserts the T1/T2/T3 numeric scheme was retired platform-wide, but its own sibling
articles [[co-location-tiering-scoring]] (a DBSCAN-based T1/T2/T3 system, `last_edited:
2026-07-03`) and [[co-location-ranking-system]] (a separate T1/T2/T3 spatial-cluster
scheme) both present T1/T2/T3 as live and current, and
[[reference/gis-cluster-scoring-glossary|gis-cluster-scoring-glossary]] documents a
third, numerically-thresholded T1 Valid/T2 Hub/T3 Apex system as current. This
article performs no reconciliation with any of them — this wiki maintains several
unreconciled parallel co-location tier systems that reuse the same labels.
**Flagged, not resolved.**

The Spanish-language equivalents are: Regional, Distrital, Local, Marginal.
