**Pending rebuild (2026-09-06).** The market table and counts on this page still reflect the pre-rebuild selection. Under the confirmed 2026-08-07 dataset, now live on [[atlas-top-400-europe|Top 400 Regional Markets — Europe]], Poland publishes 55 Regional Markets. Rebuilding this country table is a separate, scoped task — the discrepancy is flagged here, not resolved.
**Rebuilt (2026-09-06).** This page was rebuilt against the confirmed 2026-08-07 dataset, the
same build now live on [[atlas-top-400-europe|Top 400 Regional Markets — Europe]]. The prior
version listed 16 Polish entries from a superseded selection; the confirmed count is 55. Every
market, reference point, distance, and cluster count below comes from that dataset.

The **Poland regional market index** lists the 16 Polish entries in the [[atlas-top-400-europe|Top 400 Regional Markets — Europe]] set. Each entry is a named suburb or satellite municipality between 15 and 80 kilometres of a major Polish metropolitan reference point that contains at least one retail co-location cluster, qualified under the [[about-regional-markets-system|co-location regional market framework]]. This page is a filtered, Poland-specific view of that continental table — not a separate dataset — so every entry and tier count below matches the continental table exactly and updates automatically if that table is corrected. No rank or score is published for any market.
The **Poland regional market index** lists the 55 markets in Poland that meet the co-location
system's composition gates under the current 2026-08-07 dataset, drawn from a qualifying pool
of 75. This page is a filtered, country-specific view of the continental table — not a separate
dataset. No rank or score is published for any market.

## Metropolitan groupings
## Coverage

Poland's 16 markets cluster most heavily around Katowice (4 markets), reflecting the density of the Upper Silesian Industrial Region's suburban belt — the same regional cluster that anchors [[pl-bielsko-biala|Bielsko-Biała]]. Kraków (3) and Gdańsk (2) form a second tier. The remaining markets are single entries reporting to Kielce, Bydgoszcz, Łódź, Gliwice, Warsaw, Wrocław, and Łomża.
No rank or score is published for any market in this table. Every market below qualifies under
the framework's Regional Market composition gate — a hypermarket anchor paired with at least
two of {hardware, price club, lifestyle, electronics, sport} across the market's co-location
clusters. Full methodology:
[[about-regional-markets-system|Regional Markets Intelligence System]].

## Tier composition
The metropolitan reference point recorded for each market is the nearest major metropolitan
centre in the framework's continental reference set — a straight-line (crow-flies) distance
measurement, not a drive-time or commuting estimate. It is not a claim that the market
functions as a commuter suburb of that centre. Poland's 55 markets reference 19 distinct
centres. Kielce carries six entries, Lublin and Wrocław five each, and Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, and
Szczecin four each. Four reference points sit outside Poland: two to Dresden, Germany, one to
Bornholm, Denmark — Koszalin, referenced 128 kilometres across the Baltic — and one to Košice,
Slovakia. Poland's median reference distance is 70 kilometres, with 35 of its 55 markets within
80 kilometres of their reference point and one beyond 150.

Bielsko-Biała (suburb of Katowice) is Poland's only entry with two Tier 1 clusters and a civic anchor. Radom (suburb of Kielce) is a rare T1+T2+T3 combination with a civic anchor. Toruń and Częstochowa each combine a Tier 1 and a Tier 2 cluster. Ten of Poland's remaining entries qualify on a single Tier 1 cluster with no civic anchor, and Gdynia and Nowy Sącz qualify on a Tier 2+Tier 3 combination.
Catchment population and consumer-spend figures are recorded for all 55 Polish markets, with no
gaps. They are descriptive context only and take no part in selection.

## Cluster composition

The 55 markets carry 68 co-location clusters between them — 60 Tier 1, three Tier 2, and five
Tier 3. Fifty-three of the 55 carry at least one Tier 1 cluster, and one qualifies on Tier 3
clusters alone. Poland has the highest Tier 1 cluster count of any European country in the set.
