Each entry is a named suburb or satellite municipality between 15 and 80 kilometres of a major Italian metropolitan reference point that contains at least one retail co-location cluster, screened and scored under the [[about-regional-markets-system|co-location regional market framework]]. This page is a filtered, Italy-specific view of that continental table — not a separate dataset — so every rank, score, and tier count below matches the continental table exactly and updates automatically if that table is corrected. ## Metropolitan groupings Italy's 21 markets cluster most heavily around Milan (5 markets), reflecting the density of the Po Valley's suburban industrial and retail belt. Verona (3), Bologna (2), Rome (2), and Bari (2) form a second tier. The remaining markets are single entries reporting to Turin, Genoa, Venice, Messina, Naples, Florence, and Trieste — giving Italy the widest geographic spread relative to its market count of any of the seven country breakout pages on this list. ## Score distribution Asti (suburb of Turin, score 9.0) is Italy's only Tier 1 market with a civic anchor, and its highest-scoring entry by a wide margin — the next-highest Italian score is 6.0. Sixteen of Italy's 21 markets score 6.0 on a single Tier 1 cluster with no civic anchor, the modal score across the entire European list. Lucca and Como score 4.5 on a Tier 2+Tier 3 combination, and Villesse and Casamassima are Italy's lowest-ranked entries at 4.0. ## Ranked markets | Rank | Market | Suburb of | km | T1 | T2 | T3 | Civic | Score | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | 24 | Asti | Turin | 45 | 1 | 1 | 0 | Yes | 9.0 | | 233 | La Spezia | Genoa | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 234 | Castelletto sopra Ticino | Milan | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 235 | Lecco | Milan | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 236 | Brescia | Verona | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 237 | Cremona | Milan | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 238 | Curno | Milan | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 239 | Mantova | Verona | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 240 | Ravenna | Bologna | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 241 | Padova | Venice | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 242 | Milazzo | Messina | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 243 | Viterbo | Rome | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 244 | Molfetta | Bari | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 245 | Terni | Rome | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 246 | Modena | Bologna | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 247 | Trento | Verona | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 248 | Benevento | Naples | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 6.0 | | 326 | Lucca | Florence | — | 0 | 1 | 1 | — | 4.5 | | 327 | Como | Milan | — | 0 | 1 | 1 | — | 4.5 | | 349 | Villesse | Trieste | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 4.0 | | 350 | Casamassima | Bari | — | 1 | 0 | 0 | — | 4.0 | ## See also - [[atlas-top-400-europe]] — the full European ranked list this page filters - [[about-regional-markets-system]] — the co-location methodology and market selection criteria - [[co-location-intelligence-overview]] — how this ranking feeds site-selection decisions
